A driver’s license is not valid indefinitely. Before it expires, the driver must apply to renew the license in order to continue driving legally in Mozambique and in other SADC member countries and international countries that have ratified agreements with Mozambique.
According to INATRO, licenses for categories A1, A, B, C1, and C (with or without subcategory E) are typically valid for five years, while some professional categories have different validity periods.
Driving with an expired driver’s license can result in penalties and fines, so it is recommended to begin the renewal process before the expiration date.
